I couldn't find a media kit that would give me full information for XXL, the only one i found was this one...
it only had information about the circulation, which means the people who read the print magazine XXL are 143,000 this shows that XXL is popular and get a lot of audiences who reads and enjoy their products.

Research / Case Studies of Real Music Magazines.
The task is to find a genre of music to work with for my magazine project. I looked at all the genre's i could have picked but i thought to do a genre that i have more intrest in, listen to everyday and know alot about it. And that genre happen to be 'Hip Hop'. This shows it would be easy for me to carry out my research into magazines in this genre.
First Making of a Magazine Article on InDesign.
This is my first attempt of making a magazine article on a software called InDesign. I used the text that I done for my 400 words of journalism about magazines going online. Because this was my first time using InDesign this is acceptable, but if I use this software more which I am going to during the year, my articles would improve in layouts matching the theme and the title being more eye-catching and the pictures contrasting with the background colour.

How has magazines changed the face of the magazine industry?
Web 2.0 is changing how we do things in society and doing them online. It was introduced by Darcy DiNucci in 1999, but it was popularized by Tim O’nelly in late 2004 in a conference.
Web 2.0 made it more accessible for the audience to access information, without paying or going somewhere to find out.The institutions were it being able to share information to larger audiences quicker and easier.
The magazine ‘XXL’ (140.000 circulation) use platforms other than print magazines are twitter (840K followers), Facebook (6,104 likes), their app on phones or tablets and their own website. The successful ones are twitter and Facebook because of the likes and followers they have are big figures because these are popular platforms on the internet.
The role of ebooks, direct (free) distribution, apps, e-zines and other recent developments all have the same thing in common which is sharing out information out to a lot of people.
I believe that magazines are more better using these platforms because we are now in a generation where technology is every where we go, so therefore the magazine company's would make it easier for themselves to get views by publishing it online. However this is ruining the magazine industry because they are loosing out money on print magazines and making their audience see their articles online for free.
The move to digital and free magazines is a positive thing because its keeping up to date with their audience on what their on everyday, also its where everyone can access anytime, anywhere and any place, its free and look for what story they are interested in, instead of buying the print magazine which has articles the company has chosen for them. For the music industry, they would get more views faster and quicker because their audience would help to share it on other platforms and this would make the magazine known. For publishing it would help stop wasting papers for magazines that never get bought inside the local shops and will help stop causing global warming. What the future holds for the magazine industry is being online FULLY.
